Friday Lovings

It's finally Friday. It's been a busy week, besides work Kyle and I managed to buy a new couch and put together a cupboard from ikea for our living room. Ok, let's be honest... Kyle put it together while I looked through my new cookbook and watched TLC.

Friday lovings: (This is my post today, because if I rant about work... it will make me more crabby)

I am:

Excited: for our new couch! We got it for an awesome deal at Ashley Furniture thanks to their 36 hour sale, and it's a queen sized sofa sleeper as well. That part was really important because we don't have a second bedroom, so we need to have a place for guests to sleep when they come!

My super handsome husband sitting on the floor model of our new couch! Ours comes July 24!!

Blessed: That we are safely living in Edmonton, if we had been living only a shy 3 hours south in Calgary we would be in a lot of WATER. I'm sure you have heard of the horrible flooding that Calgary is enduring right now, as well as surrounding areas. Please keep them in your prayers tightly. We have family and friends there, so it's tough to be here when there is so much distress going on. Pray for safety, comfort, relief and rebuilding.

Motivated: Kyle and I both have bikes now! Mine was brought last weekend from SK when we went home, and his just bought on sale at Canadian Tire! *confession: I'm a terrible biker, my best friend Katelyn can testify to this... let's just say my first time involved a pole, a tree and a bush... But I'm getting more confidant. (and by that I mean, now I leave our cul-de-sac and go to the park a few blocks away!). In my defence, I didn't learn to bike early on, and it wasn't something I did often. So I'm feeling motivated to improve and get in better riding shape!

Brave: Being newly married and young, the kitchen is a foreign concept. In college often times supper was cereal or noodles. I've been meal planning each week from recipe books and I love to cook and try new things. I'm staying pretty basic so far, but I've had successful, yummy turn outs that yield leftovers which is always a good thing! Right now I'm wanting to be more brave and try some new recipes from my "Mennonite Girls Can Cook". My mom just bought me one of their books and had it signed by two of the ladies so that's AWESOME. You can check out their website here: http://www.mennonitegirlscancook.ca/, and have fun being brave too!

Anxious: to get our wedding pictures back. Not in a bad way, just impatiently waiting to see how amazing they will be.

Well folks, tonight I'm living it up like a wild woman. Just kidding... I'm going on a bike ride with my husband and to the IKEA midnight madness sale... that's how bad ass I am.
