One of the biggest things with planning our wedding is just that, planning! It takes so much work to get married (I now see why people elope!) Here's the thing though... I really love a good party. A really good, laugh till your sides ache, celebrate with all those you love, cry you're so happy party. So that's why we are planning our wedding down to the very last detail, so that we can have the best day ever!
Some things that I'm SO glad are done:
1) The food, as I've mentioned before I hate weddings with crappy food. Great meal=happy hearts. We decided to book a caterer outside of our reception hall, and couldn't be more thrilled with our decision. We chose exactly what we wanted at our meal including speciality items such as our s'mores bar, milk & cookies table and mashtini's (translation: epic mashed potatoes served with whatever toppings you want!) Kyle and I are working with the lovely Nicola over at PickNics Catering! We highly recommend her, and can't wait for our awesome meal.
2) The shots baby! We booked our photographer! I was SUPER stressed about this one, because I'm really anal about photography... I want nice shots that are unique, not too edited...the list could go on and on. I'm fussy, that about sums it up. I also wanted to click with the person when we met them! Is that weird? I just feel like if you take amazing photographs but you like cats and Tim Horton's, it may be a deal breaker. I kid! I'm pretty sure our photographer has a cat...and we love her! We are working with Danielle from Danielle Stasiuk Photography. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Kyle and I HAD to have this sweet woman with us the whole day! And so we are! YES, so pumped. Hire her, I mean it!
3) Decorations... can often be pricey pricey pricey. But if you are looking for an affordable, creative and could not be any nicer designer look no further. We rented from Party With Elegance, it's a little ways out of the city but SO worth it!
4) We got our invitations mailed! Thank GOD! I had some of my sweet girlfriends, family, inlaws, Kyle help put them together. What a
So, basically now we are just waiting to get married haha! My best friend Katelyn, my sweet bridesmaid Erin and I ordered the bridesmaid dresses, Kyle and I are scheduling in our premarital counselling and looking into booking our honeymoon pretty soon.
For any readers out there who have booked a honeymoon, all-inclusive vaca etc. Any tips??
I'll leave you with this quote,
I love thee, I love but thee with a love that shall not die.
Till the sun grows cold
And the stars grow old
