Sweets Galore

Weekly weigh in: 155lbs (down 5lbs total)

I love desserts, always have. When Kyle and I started planning our wedding, we knew that the top things were to: 1) Have an amazing time 2) Make it our own 3) Capture it with awesome photography 4) Have a kick ass meal. So naturally, one of the best parts of the meal is dessert. We are looking at two bakeries currently (and considering a third through the caterer). They are as follows:

1) Bridge City Cakes which you can find all about on their site. We are looking into getting their mini cupcakes, and a layer cake to cut. Their work looks amazing, and from the reviews tastes amazing too! I have found with too many companies their product may look smashing but tastes average or less than ideal, this does not seem to be the case with BCC. The owners replied promptly and were super professional. I can't wait to see more of them at an upcoming bridal show in Saskatoon this January!

2) Sugar Moon Cake Co.  is another hit with me. We sampled some of their work at a bridal show this fall and it was SO good. I love the detail they offer, sadly don't do cupcakes but they however do make smaller dessert cakes.

The reason we chose cupcakes is we felt people would appreciate a smaller portion of something sweet, with a variety of flavours. Keep in mind we are also doing a s'mores bar as well as a cookie bar (homemade cookies with fresh milk!) So there will be TONS of sweets on hand.

Inspiration: Cookie Bar, with cold milk nearby of course!

So those are the two options we are looking at. If you have had experience with any other sweet caterers, feel free to comment I would really appreciate it!!

Love always, H.
