Love Is.

Eep, sorry I haven't posted in a while. School has been hecka-busy, and the days are going by faster than I can keep up with. Currently this weekend and next I am in class from 8 am.- 5pm. soaking in all the Epistles of Paul, one of the greatest lessons I am learning from this is on love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8(a) says: 

Love is patient, love is kind. 

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 

It does not dishonor others, 

it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, 

it keeps no record of wrongs. 

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 

Love never fails.

I am so incredibly blessed to be loved by so many people, I feel sometimes it is easy to forget this or even take it for-granted. I am even luckier to be loved as a child of God. In terms of earthly love, I am soooooo in love with the most amazing man ever. Let me give you an example of Kyle's love for me and how I see it daily. 

Kyle is patient (when I am impatient, which is often), Kyle is kind (when I am harsh with friends). 

Kyle does not envy (the things I excel at), Kyle does not boast (at ALL the things he excels at), Kyle is not proud (and he is humble at his gifts). 

Kyle does not dishonor others,(he speaks well of people)  

Kyle is not self-seeking (he puts me before himself), Kyle is not easily angered (he is incredibly calm and relaxed during difficult things), 

Kyle keeps no record of wrongs (He doesn't bring up wrongs of the past). 

Kyle does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (He brings God into our relationship and rejoices in the Lord)

Kyle always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 

Love never fails. (Kyle does all of the above things) 

Notice that Love at the end was not replaced with Kyle's name, this is to emphasize that Kyle is not flawless, or perfect- I don't expect him to be. He makes mistakes, he is sometimes the opposite of the above words and sometimes he hurts my feelings; I do all the same. He strives for the above qualities daily, just as I do. Perfect love is only from Christ, thus why Kyle and I will build our marriage upon His foundation. 

I criticize, nag, obsess, whine, self-pity... all of these things are my flaws and are there because I am human. I encourage you to strive for goodness, and to encourage one another.
