Christmas is a comin'

I can't believe it's already the middle of November, and Christmas is just over a month away. (I seriously say this exact sentiment, every single year! Where does the time go?). I'm in awe that this is our last year sans baby, and next year we will have an almost 1 year old. Holy s&!?

One of my favorite parts of getting ready for the holiday season is all the events going on in, and around Edmonton. I've posted some of my favorites below- do try and take these in if you can, you won't regret it.

1. The Butterdome Craft Sale (December 3-6, 2015) @ The Butterdome: U of A Campus

This is one of my favorite Christmas events, it's huge and the picture is just a snip of all the incredible artisan booths there are each year. You can find more information, and a full list of vendors here. I've gotten various items here over the past couple years we have gone, of course this year I'm most excited to FINALLY buy baby stuff!! If you are bringing your little ones, I would advise wearing them if possible- the aisles can get super crowded especially with strollers.

2. Luminaria (December 5-6) @ The Devonian Botanical Garden: 5:00-9:00 PM.

We went to this event last year for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. It's a little bit of a drive (5KM north of Devon), but definitely do-able. Their Japanese garden is lit up with lanterns, candles, and lights; and it is simply breathtaking. They have carols being sung throughout, and hot apple cider stations as you walk the pathway. This year they are promising more family fun activities, another change is you must purchase your tickets in advance. Make sure you bundle up, depending on how cold it is, it really is one of my fave winter dates, here is a link to all the information.

3. Candy Cane Lane (December 11-January 3) @ 148 St between 100 Ave-92 Ave.

This is one of the best neighborhood Christmas displays in the city, in my opinion. The route can be walked (nice if the weather is mild) or driven (can get congested); I think they also have started sleigh rides, but I'm not sure... Bring a donation to the Food Bank (bins are along the street), and enjoy! Here is more information!

Some new events (to me), that I would like to take in this year are: The Festival of Trees, The CP Holiday Train, and I would love to dress up and see the Nutcracker. Here is one final list, of a link to even more events- argh, I just want to try them all!
