Eight is great.

Fitness has always been a challenge for me. If you have been following my blog, you have read earlier (read: prewedding freak out) about my fitness goals. I find it really hard to get into a routine, and stick with it long enough for it to matter. With my recent new job, came a curse in disguise blessing: a gym membership to World Health.

I thought to myself, "ok Heidi, there is no excuse now"... So I did it, I went for my fitness consultation and stood on this wretched motivating machine telling me how much of my body weight was fat. Yep folks, you read that right... getting analysed for your fat% is not my favourite thing either... but here's the great part! After I stood on the machine, I could really visually see some things, both where my strong areas are, and my not so strong areas. I'm now working with a personal trainer twice a week until Christmas and trying my very best to make it to the gym on my own at least 3X a week.

Here's my reasons that I decided to do some personal training, and the benefits I've seen so far:

1) I'm not super familiar/confident with gym equipment. Each week that we meet, we do a TON of different activities and I'm always learning something new!
2) I'm challenged in ways that I wouldn't be able to motivate myself in. My trainer pushes me hard, and I'm really grateful for her!
3) I don't feel judged, or self concious working out. I feel STRONG, empowered, owning my body and most of all beautiful. Yep, dripping sweat and all.
4) I am seeing a difference in my body. I'm slowly becoming leaner, tighter and stronger. I'm building muscle mass, and yep eight is great. I've gone from a size 10 to a size 8 since gym time! Whoo hoo!

The downside: it's both a huge time commitment (worth it!) and financial commitment (worth it!). The nice part is, World Gym makes it totally do-able for anyone. (Remember that I'm working full time, but my husband is a full time student... so no, right now we aren't rolling in green- but if you want something and it's important to you, make it work.) It's time that is setting me up for success. I view my time with my trainer, as a time to learn and practice all the skills I need to succeed in the future.

If you aren't with a gym now, and your interested. I strongly recommend World Health if you have one in your area. Check them out HERE  and see if there is a location near you! They have TONS of sweet classes, training, awesome facilities and a place that you can really discover a new lifestyle.

ps: I'm not being sponsored by World Health in any way, but if I was asked I totally would give them a shout out. They are awesome, and I feel so great finding my new healthy lifestyle there!

Anyhow: my crappies of the week is that I'm sore from working so hard and it's really sad that our apartment only has a shower and no tub to soak in :( Oh well, I'll survive haha!

xo for now my sweet readers -H
